Quality of Life

Concerned Citizens is interested in the following elements that contribute to the quality of life here in the County.  When we evaluate a County Project and its implementation plan, we consider the following:

1. Maintenance and enhancement of the unique character of the County

• Is the project respectful of our history and heritage?
• Is it compatible with our agricultural base?
• Is it compatible with our attractiveness as a tourist destination?

2. Adherence to principles of good governance

• Does the project conform to the Official and/or Secondary plan(s) and zoning requirements?
• Does the plan take appropriate account of the interests and needs of the major subgroups of residents?
• Does it provide for input from residents early enough to allow appropropriate modifications?

3. Recognition of environmental responsibility

• Is the project consistent with the maintenance of air, soil and water quality?
• Is it consistent with the maintenance of the health and safety of all residents?
• Does the plan make appropriate and efficient use of natural resources?
